Tesla has officially launched its robotaxi service!

Ana sayfa / News

Tesla’s long-term driverless robotaxi service has made its first drive with a limited number of users. The system, developed by the company’s own software and hardware teams, was introduced last year but had not yet entered commercial operation. The test drives launched as part of the pilot application are being carried out on designated routes in the city of Austin.

The robotaxi fleet consists of approximately 10 Cybercab models specially developed by Tesla. The vehicles operate completely driverless, but each vehicle has a security guard throughout the journey.

Apart from this, it is stated that the entire fleet is monitored instantly by a remote operator. The service can currently only be used by invited users. These users shared their first experiences on social media.

Elon Musk made the announcement about the robotaxi application via his personal account. According to the information shared by Musk, an average fee of $4.2 is charged per ride. Tesla states that the service is checked in detail in terms of security.

The company’s new service is currently active only in Austin and on a limited route. It remains unclear whether the system will be made widespread, as there is still no clarity on various regulatory issues with city governments.

How Tesla concludes this testing process will determine the future of robotaxi service. So what do you think about this? Would you benefit from such a service in your daily life? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
